tip

Check proper nouns and abbreviations after using Title Case or UPPERCASE; those terms may need different capitalization.

caution

Text Case affects only text. Numeric columns and other non-string data types are not changed.

Best Practices

  1. Clean inconsistent values before changing their case.
  2. Choose a case that suits how the data will be displayed or compared.
  3. If the original capitalization matters, copy those values to new columns before overwriting them.
  4. Review mixed-case values, special formatting, proper nouns, and abbreviations after the transform.
